cannot stress how few artists (even the ones with big followings) are actually making a liveable wage from their art and how much a liveable wage is not actually "wealth"
2021 will be the first year I make a liveable wage! I've been out of university for almost 3 years trying to make comics work full time, and I've only been able to do THAT because I have well-off parents who let me live in their home rent free for that period
I am only just now able to afford moving out; I have been posting art and forming networks online, in a semi-professional capacity, for at least 8 years. I am 26!!!
Like, working in the arts under capitalism is Absolutely a luxury that not everyone has access to, but there are people less fortunate than me working a hell of a lot harder for worse pay in this field that do not deserve to be put in the same boat as Literal Millionaires
