I see a lot of people ask “how do blind people use Twitter?” so lemme tell you!!

Blindnesss comes in all shapes and sizes, accessibility for them is generally built into the phone or app! You can improve a blind person’s experience online by providing “alt text” to your images
Text readers verbally read out loud text, including text you provide in alt text.

For those who can still read under certain circumstances, there’s accessibility options built into the phone. Some blindness creates a lot of glare, and so inverting text so it’s white text on
Black background makes the text readable (think “dark mode” on twitter or Insta, but for every website online).

Other blind people need magnifiers, and plenty use a combination of these different options to consume content.

For example, I use “smart invert” constantly,
With a slight magnification, and prefer audio description when viewing video content since video moves to much and fast to understand content on my own •.

The more you know!
