Robert Williams was elected provisional president of the RNA and Betty Shabazz was second vice president.
The RNA espoused socialism, cooperative economics, self-determination, reparations, and anti-colonial solidarity.
The RNA faced persecution from the FBI and had been violently attacked in Detroit and Mississippi for their efforts. Many members were arrested and placed in prison.
The RNA believe that Black people had not been given an option of choice in becoming independent or becoming citizens of the United States after the end of slavery.
Black people are considered a captive and colonized nation of people forged through our experience here in the USA.
