^ top/bottom preference literally says nothing about the character except that they either:
- like the feeling of a dick in their ass, or
- like the feeling of their dick in someone else's ass.
This is hardly required tagging territory. It has no bearing on their personality.

^ I mean, if you relate to a certain character & you like seeing them experience certain things—that's cool! What's not cool is insisting on a system of top/bottom categorization for fics, because doing so infers that this is a preference that people should be "sorted" by. +
+ It implies that top/bottom dynamics have such a heavy bearing on one's personality, that the value of the *entire* story is determined by it. It smacks of heteronormative influences, tbh.
