Tumblr was great at introducing social justice concepts to young people in an easily accessible non-academic format but the problem was that said young ppl were mostly introverted social outcasts w very little actual life experience and a tenuous grasp on reality

I’m not trying to insult ppl I’m being genuinely serious , I was one of them. Fandom in particular attracts ppl like that. And when u live your life perpetually online in a fantasy world u lack the necessary life experience to contextualize real world information

This is how we get absurd hot takes like ‘sex is oversexualized’ or ‘put ur race in ur bio so poc can choose not to interact with you’ , anti-recovery mindsets about mental illness, and a LGBT community that is completely and utterly ignorant to its own history

Keep in mind that much of this was the avenue through which extremists pushed their beliefs

Kids weren’t just making this shit up, people were planting ideas in their heads deliberately and repeatedly

If it seems like this whole purity thing is a cult that’s bc it is

But the entire online culture of the left has become this vacuum of ppl just yelling at each other over the internet for minor infractions, it’s not just tumblr kids, everyone has lost touch w reality and the pandemic has just made it worse

I’ve spoken enough about the radfem influence on tumblr and how it has permeated online leftist discourse to a STAGGERING degree that we need to work on reversing right the fuck now

I was fucking INSUFFERABLE when I first Got Woke through tumblr lmao I’m literally only now unlearning a lot of that shit and accepting common sense back into my life

I wasn’t literally growing up in that
