Sounds like my school will be moving to fully in-person instruction (5 days) for those currently in blended learning. This is a huge win for students ‼️‼️🙏🏼🤗 But....
As I saw this week, school will likely be interrupted frequently due to 2 unlinked cases. This will continue to be a huge barrier & harm our children
Shutting down classes, ok... 24 hour investigation, fine... but UNLINKED cases means spread is NOT happening in schools. They should stay open
Contrarily, I think it would be necessary to close if we did see multiple LINKED cases (not in the same family)... this would be more logical to me. I’m not an epidemiologist, but neither are DeBlasio, Carranza, nor Mulgrew....
Continuing with the status quo is too disruptive. We finally have a chance to make this right, but we need to re-evaluate some of the arbitrary standards.
