See, the thing with takes like this is, they can never quantify what they mean by "forced diversity." Because what is it? I'll use Rose Tico as an example because that's always who they're talking about
Do they think Rose Tico's failing as a character was being Asian? Did that break the 4th wall? There's no indication that that's even a racial identity in the star wars universe, it's never remarked upon, doesn't impact the plot at all.
Do they think Kelly was only cast for being Asian, and thus, the casting suffered? If so, do they think Kelly is the only working actress in the world who's Asian, and that by looking for an Asian actress they were forced to pick specifically her, and that she was less qualified?
Do they think Rose was an unnecessary character, and wouldn't have been written in at all if they hadn't wanted an Asian character? If so, "the new character is bad" feels like a writing problem, so why do they think it's a diversity problem?
If you like one show and hate another it's not that deep, but if you have to pin your reason for disliking a movie on "bad diversity" it means you can't think critically about a story to the extreme degree that when you try, you can only think about how racist you are
