You don’t get to complain about how hard it is to take sick days for depression if you treat bipolar folks and schizophrenic folks like scary sideshow attractions. You don’t get to demand compassion for your panic attacks if you don’t demand the same for psychosis. https://twitter.com/deathtoplants_/status/1339323439656611840
“But I was traumatized by a mentally ill person!!”

Okay, I recommend you seek out a trauma specialist to work through that, then. No one is telling you to keep people in your life that harm you.
You have an obligation to heal your trauma so you don’t do harm rooted in it. Mentally ill people have an obligation to manage their conditions sufficiently to not harm others. Remember, plenty of depressed people neglect kids/pets - less stigmatized Dx’s don’t mean less harm.
Someone experiencing mania or psychosis is not inherently harming you, just because you make assumptions about how those conditions make people behave. Psychosis and/or mania do not violence make.
And all this also goes for dissociative identities (aka multiple personalities, which is not the preferred term) too! Don’t just support the mental ill people who have similar lived experiences to you, or you’re just stepping on the backs of others to gain your own security.
