I find it a bit odd when people make a hoopla about something on here and when it doesn’t work out they just kinda pretend it never happened.

Like that Homer Simpson Gif where he backs into the bushes slowly. You know this one!

BUCKLE UP, this is a thread ↓
There are lessons to be learned in the hard moments, friends. Here’s to not just sharing the highlight reel.

I am the queen 👑 of not listening and learning the hard way.

“Ummm... how on earth are you building two businesses that are in their early stages, Stef?”

“It’s fine. I’m superwoman. Didn’t you know?” 🙄🙄🙄

Thing is I started working on @NoStoryLost in the spring

(👋🏻 hello getting laid off during a pandemic, having a brief panic and then saying: bring it on entrepreneurship).
Who would have known that both these little businesses would soar?! @shinebootcamp gained momentum. So did @NoStoryLost.

It's actually crazy to think that they are both picking up steam, making money, driving impact and doing good in the world. How did I get so damn lucky?

But the very hard truth is I can’t split my attention between these business babies. It feels like I am never giving enough.

And Shine has and always will come first.
Deep down I knew this. I suspected this in September, but I kept going in hopes that it would change, because I didn't want to be a quitter. I didn’t want to disappoint my two No Story Lost Co-Founders and let them down.

And not only that ...
... I felt a great deal of responsibility to do what I set out to do. Lastly, I felt a great sense of personal pride working on No Story Lost.

The decision did NOT come lightly at all. It was really fucking hard.
But I re-read @ThisIsSethsBlog's book, “the dip” and it all clicked for me.

And so I'll leave you both with some banger quotes from Seth:
→ “You have the power to change everything. To create remarkable products and services. To over-deliver. To be the best in the world. How dare you squander that resource by spreading it too thin. How dare you settle for mediocre just because you’re ...
... busy coping with too many things on your agenda, racing against the clock to get it all done.”

And quote number 2 ↓
→ “Strategic quitting is a conscious decision you make based on the choices that are available to you. If you realize you’re at a dead-end compared with what you could be investing in, quitting is not only a reasonable choice, it’s a smart one”

No, @nostorylost isn’t stopping. Or re-branding to: No Story.

It’s just getting started, in fact. The torch is passed to Jeremy and Andrew (two seasoned entrepreneurs, the creators of Mealshare)

As for me?
I’ll be putting my full energy 💥behind a mission I care deeply about: to elevate the voices of those who don’t readily raise their hand. Or aren’t recognized when they do.

AND SCENE. La fin. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
