Thoughts on Trickster/Latimer:

- and took a lot of zhoonyah away from actual Indigenous creatives who deserve the types of opportunities, grants and awards she was given.
That said, you canât all of the sudden hate the series upon finding out this information. (Conât-)

It is disappointing as hell. But donât let it take away from the achievements of all the Indigenous folks who made the series possible, and who did a great job. (Conât-)
Donât forget that the series is adapted from Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson, who is from Haisla and Heiltsuk. And it stars these amazing folks: Anna Lambe who is Inuk, Joel Oulette who is Swampy Cree, Crystle Lightning who is Cree, (continued-)
Kalani Queypo who is Blackfoot and Hawaiian, Nathan Alexis who is Nakota. Craig Lauzon who is Anishinaabe. The scene with the ancient dancing on the shore in ceremony was choreographed by Santee Smith who is Mohawk. (Cont-)
Donât diminish the hard work of these wonderful Indigenous folks, and all the other Indigenous folks (sorry if I didnât name ya here Iâm kinda writing quickly) who made this series possible. (Cont-)
I will always condemn pretendianism. It is quite a harmful practice that takes resources and spotlight away from people in our communities. (Cont-)
But do I still think Trickster is a great show? Yes. I canât describe the feeling of watching my dad feel represented while watching this show. (Cont-)
He has always loved Supernatural and shows/films like that, but to see it on Trickster, with all Indig people on tv, was quite an experience for him. And that, to me, makes the series meaningful.
