NFTs will be a major source of income for music artists going forward. The biggest impact will be on independent musicians and producers who will finally see revenue from their work without needing a billion streams or a TikTok to go viral.
Music artists will still need to be focused on building their brand and marketing themselves. No one will buy your NFTs if they don’t know about them and or have an emotional connection to you and your work. It’s not going to be free money.
Major labels are already hip to this so I also see the biggest artists in the world getting in the game as well. It’s already happening on the collectibles side w @3LAU @RAC and @deadmau5. Now it’s time to experiment w recorded music as the focus. Space Yacht will be doing this
Imagine actually being able to OWN a piece of music instead of streaming or downloading an unlimited copy. NFTs allow us to do this. There will be a version on all platforms and then limited original master prints in the form of NFTs. This is going to happen
