I have officially been at my school for a whole term. It has not only completely changed my day to day life, but also my whole outlook and mindset 🥰

One of my favourite things has been how much I learn every day. Here are just some of the things I have learnt:
1. The meaning of loads of medical terminology and jargon! I can now chat about aspirations and Hickman lines with the best of them 💊
2. How so much of working in a school for complex physical and medical needs revolves around bathrooming! 🧻
3. The SEN allowance teachers in special ed get is to cover the additional paperwork they have to undertake 📓
4. The names and conditions of 100 pupils (the most amazing children I have ever met) ♥️
5. There is unimaginable joy where some would presume there to be heartbreak and sorrow 🥰
6. The systems and processes not only used within my new school but the wider borough as I’m also new to that 💻
7. How 20 school buses, 3 cabs and 17 parental drop-offs can run like clockwork every morning 🚐
8. How to communicate with people using Makaton, Eye Gaze, Switches and communication books 👋🏻
9. To be deputy head to a staff of 130 amazing colleagues, during the toughest term teaching may have ever seen 😬
10. That I can make incredible friends that I know will be a part of my life for ever, in just a few months ♥️
11. That it’s okay to laugh in most situations - in fact it often helps 🤣
12. That my children are resilient and amazing - they can excel in areas that most adults will never even experience 👩‍🦯
13. To embrace every single minute of life because it is short and precious ⭐️
14. To put things into perspective - I am so blessed and used to moan about the most ridiculous things 🥺
15. That work can be your favourite part of the day and that you can laugh so hard you cry, while also getting shit done! 😎
16. That I love my job and made the best choice of my life by making this move 😁
