Some #cf97 math: Per MLS, in order for a player to be bought down with allocation $, a team can’t spend more than the $1.53 million annual threshold multiplied by the duration of the contract. That threshold is comprised of both the player salary and amortised transfer fee.
Gimenez arrived on a two year (plus one option year) for a reported $5m. Even if they pick up his option he can't be bought down.

Beric arrived on a two year (plus one option year) for a reported $3.5m. He can't be bought down either.
