FPL 20/21 - Chips Strategy

Blank GW18 and DGW19 will be an opportunity to boost your rank. Here are some of the strategies you can take on depending on your current team's setup and chips left. No one size that fits all.

Strategy 1

GW16: WC1, load up with DGW players
BGW18: Free-Hit
DGW19: Bench Boost

Pro;
Saving 2nd WC for future DGW.
DGW19 could possibly be the biggest DGW this season. Best to utilise BB chip.
GW16 is the FPL Cup qualification round.

Strategy 1 (cont.)

Cons;
Only applicable for those who still keep their 1st WC
You're setting up DGW19 players in GW16. A lot can happen in between GW16 to DGW19 (20 days)
You'll only have 1 FT going into DGW19 after using FH in BGW18.

Strategy 2

GW17: WC2, load up with DGW players
BGW18: Free-hit
DGW19: Bench Boost

Pro;
DGW19 could possibly be the biggest DGW this season. Best to utilise BB chip.
Field 15/15 players in DGW19

Strategy 2 (cont.)

Cons;
Using your precious 2nd WC. From here on you'll need to survive with free transfers and hits.
Setting up DGW19 players in GW17. Anything can happen in between. (15 days)
You'll only have 1 FT going into DGW19 after using FH in BGW18.

Strategy 3

6 FT to prepare for BGW18
DGW19: Free-Hit

Pro;
Save your 2nd WC for future DGW.
Getting DGW19 players near the deadline after you get all the valuable information during press conf. You can target players/teams on hot streaks.

Strategy 3 (cont.)

Cons;
You're putting one piece at a time. Could be priced out of players you wanted in by BGW18
Max 11/15 DGW19 players. Not utilizing your bench in DGW.
After DGW19 your team will revert back to BGW18 lineup.

Strategy 4

6 FT to prepare for DGW19
BGW18: Free-Hit
DGW19: Bench Boost

Pro;
Save 2nd WC for future DGW.
Getting BGW18 players near the deadline after you get all the valuable information in press conf. Target players/teams on hot streaks.
Field 15/15 players in DGW19

Strategy 4 (cont.)

Cons;
You're putting together one piece at a time. Could be priced out of players you wanted in by DGW19
Need to be cautious on how much you spend on your bench players for BB in DGW19. Need to move around the budget again after DGW19.
