I was thinking last night, Nigerians generally start life a lot later than most other nationalities, in my experience.
Many Americans begin procreating, working & owning property in their early twenties but in Nigeria most 27 Y/Os are barely finding their bearing

I don’t know if it’s a mindset thing or the system which creates heavy laxities in timeframe such as strike in the educational sector, useless NYSC, unemployment etc, but I’m certain it’s not always a choice.
I have colleagues here that are grandmas in their early 40s.

It’s not clear to me that having a family that early is a good thing (kids raising kids), but I’m not sure it’s such a bad thing either. For one you get to watch your children grow and enjoy your grandkids. Another benefit is early retirement.
As opposed to retiring when you have one good hip, dimming vision and spending your entire retirement funds on treating chronic diseases related to old age. One thing is certain to me tho, humans were not meant to procreate that late else puberty won’t begin so early

Plus adulthood is not measured by age, but by maturity gained by voluntary adoption of responsibility.
