One thing you may not realize as a denizen of Twitch Chat is that your shitty comments, even if in jest, cumulatively weigh on the streamer. If you're being a dick, it adds onto every other mean-spirited joke, jab, or shot. Asking about appearance or demeanor? Don't.

One person asks if a streamer is "grumpy" or "tired" or "sick" doesn't feel to the chatter like a big deal. Problem is, 3 or 5 or 10 people do it, none of them thinking about the others. The streamer has to read them all. Try as they might, they internalize it.

The streamer is (except in some circumstances) not your friend. They do not know you. You only feel like you know them because you watch them a lot. Even if you're a regular. Consider kindness. Be productive. Or be silent.
