Give yourself the gift of self-care. It’s OK to step aside and take some time for yourself during the holidays - especially if you are mainly staying inside due to the pandemic. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, find a place to press pause.
Don’t convince yourself that you need a significant other to feel happy! You don’t need to partake in cuffing season to feel loved.
Choose your battles. Chances are, there’s going to be family members or friends around who don’t share your viewpoints. It doesn’t help to argue for the sake of arguing. If you know the conversation isn’t going to change anyone’s opinion, then it might be better to skip it.
Chosen family is family. Period.
Check your perspective. If we walk into the Holidays certain that it’s going to be stressful or full of conflict, it probably will be. Go into the situation determined to make it work while also taking care of yourself.
We’re still in the midst of a pandemic. Your mask is the ultimate holiday accessory!
The holidays are not an excuse to rekindle toxic relationships.
Eat the extra Christmas cookie. You deserve it.
You don’t need to spend money on someone to let them know that you love them.
If this time of year makes it difficult for you to be happy, you are not alone. You’re not the grinch just because you’re having a hard time.
