Four counties in Georgia closed early polling locations for the runoff that were open for the presidential election just 6 weeks ago. They were closed because 1.) Biden won the state; 2.) minority voter turnout had surged. 1/4 https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/early-voting-changes-georgia-counties-are-suppressing-turnout-advocates-warn-n1251584
Little has been said about Forsyth County, which closed 6 out of 11 early polling locations. There is no weekend voting and the polls are only open from 8 am to 5 pm, making early in-person voting impossible for workers with traditional work hours. 2/4 https://www.forsythco.com/Departments-Offices/Voter-Registrations-Elections/Voter-Information-Guide
Forsyth County has the fastest growing AAPI pop in the US. Reliable sources have shared their data with me from the presidential election. 1.) AAPIs in Forsyth had the highest voter turnout growth in all of Georgia. 2.) Voter turnout was about 75%!!! 3/4 https://www.ajc.com/news/local/surge-asian-students-has-impact-forsyth-schools/f91QK1LckSJvy0dU37m1AJ/
AAPIs in Georgia went for Biden 2 to 1. The early voting closures in Forsyth County, which Republicans allege (despite no evidence) are due to "voter fraud," are a backlash to the surge in minority voter turnout, but especially AAPI turnout, the largest minority group there. 4/4
