Trans Iceland and @kvenrett (Women's Rights Association of Iceland) have made their cooperation official, as TI becomes a membership organisation of IWRA. Solidarity like this is vital and shows us that we are all fighting for the same cause. Liberation. https://kvenrettindafelag.is/en/iwra-welcomes-a-new-member-trans-island/
Despite what anti-trans groups in the UK and US might want you to believe, trans rights and LGBT rights in general are intertwined with women's rights and the feminist fight for equality. Iceland is here setting an example which other countries should all follow.
This is a result of years of cooperation, where the two organisations recognise that they both fight against oppressive gender structures that keep us all marginalised. We must stand together and show solidarity with each other's struggles, which are often the same.
We hope that this will be a start of a fruitful cooperation that will set an example of how to create a wholly inclusive and intersectional feminist movement, that fights for liberation of everyone and condemns anti-trans rhetorics which threatens progress for us.
