According to the DOI report, 7 years into @NYCMayor's tenure, "No executive within the NYPD is accountable for ensuring that the Department meets its obligation to facilitate and cooperate with its oversight agencies." https://twitter.com/NYCMayor/status/1339909095223144450
For years, @NYCMayor has touted his "revolutionary" community policing initiative for changing the NYPD.

The DOI report found that the "NYPD's Community Affairs Bureau was not part of the NYPD response to the Floyd protests."
Repeatedly, @NYCMayor and @NYPDShea insisted that the NYPD had plenty of experience in facilitating protests, and to trust their judgment.

DOI report: "The NYPD lacked a clear strategy tailored to respond to the large-scale protests of police and policing"
Asked if any NYPD brass would be disciplined or fired, @NYCMayor said "We're definitely gonna look at the actions of the individual commanders...But I think it's fair to say that what's being pointed out here is not so much not time for retribution honestly, but time for change."
And now @NYCMayor is on @BrianLehrer, saying he disagrees with the @NYC_DOI's determination that Community Affairs was not involved in planning the response to the George Floyd protests
"I understand there is a kind of journalistic impulse to want to see people fired, or disciplined," @NYCMayor tells @BrianLehrer about NYPD commanders who made poor decisions, referring to these actions as "retribution."

Some New Yorkers might refer to this as "accountability"
