1953 Lahore riots against Ahmadi Muslims

The first martial law in Pakistan was imposed in #Lahore - surprise surprise to quell Anti-Ahmadi riots in 1953 for three months. Army took on the bigots then.

Governor General Ghulam Muhammad had handed over administration to Lt. General Azam Khan to oversee the suppression of Anti-Ahmadiyya violence and had to request the Army to intervene and quell the aggression.
Disturbances began after an ultimatum was delivered to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on 21 January 1953 by Majlis-e-Ahrar

Demands:

Removal of Sir Zafarullah Khan from the foreign ministry

Removal of Ahmadis from top government offices

Declaration of Ahmadis as Non-Muslims
The ultimatum was rejected and disturbances commenced.

On 6 March martial law was declared.
January 1953

After the convention of the All Pakistan Muslim League at Dhaka, Anti-Ahmadiyya elements threatened to take direct action after 22 February 1953, if their demands were not met.

Burial of an Ahmadi Muslim was resisted by Anti-Ahmadiyya elements in Sargodha.
23 February 1953

Anti-Ahmadiyya riots broke out in West Pakistan specially in Punjab Province
27 February 1953

Al Fazl, a publication of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat was banned by the Government for 1 year.
The vacuum was filled by the publication of Farooq. The first edition of Farooq was published on 4 March but after the second issue, it was forced to stop on 11 March
5 March 1953

Master Manzoor Ahmed a teacher was killed in Baghbanpura, Lahore.
6 March 1953

Ahmadi Noor Mosque, Rawalpindi was attacked and set on fire by a mob.

Press belonging to an Ahmadi was burnt.

Many shops and houses belonging to Ahmadis and the President of Jamaat Ahmadiyya, Rawalpindi were ransacked.
Countrywide riots including torture, murder attempts and arson started against the Ahmadi Muslims especially in Lahore.

MARTIAL LAW was declared in Lahore.
8 March 1953

Havaldar Abdul Ghafoor and another Ahmadi perfumer were killed in Lahore.
12 March 1953

Additional Magistrate Jhang prohibited the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat from commenting on Anti-Ahmadiyya riots and the Anti-Ahmadiyya movement.
01 April 1953

Mirza Shareef Ahmad and Mirza Nasir Ahmad were arrested in Lahore during the riots. They were released on 28 May.

Superintendent of Police Jhang searched Qasre Khilafat and the central offices of Sadar Anjuman Ahmadiyya, Rabwah.

Nazir Tabligh was arrested.
07 May 1953

Martial law authorities passed the death sentence on Maulana Abdus Sattar Niazi.
11 May 1953

Martial Law authorities passed the death sentence on Abul Ala Maududi for writing Qadyani Masla, and certain press statements delivered in February and March.
14 May 1953

Martial law was lifted.

1 NCO of Baloch Regiment killed

Don't forget that the Ahrars had openly opposed the creation of Pakistan and had announced it as Palidistan and called Quaid-e-Azam as Kafir-e-Azam.

I know you didn't know about the 1953 riots organzied by Majlis-e-Ahrar. Is this your Islam you stand for? Killing and persecute other people? "Whosoever killed a person it shall be as if he had killed all mankind"
How can you be so stupid, retard and promote such a hate amongst your fellow countrymen. Dimagh nahi? Kaam nai karta? What the hell do you even think who you are? Thaika liya hua hai Islam ka? Bad kismati tumhari - you never understood Islam hai kiya.
