the side of ateez that stan twitter never sees: a thread

@ATEEZofficial #ATEEZ #에이티즈
1. ateez's beautiful discography

the "noise music" myth. people who've heard one or two title tracks might have given you the misconception that those songs reflect their entire discography. don't believe that!
i highlighted in green all of their songs that aren't what twitter calls "noise music." notice how that is most of their discography! if you like upbeat and fun pop songs, you'll love these tracks
2. ateez's compassion

when most people think of ateez, they'll only recall their performance style and global fanbase. which, yes!! they're amazing!!

but what most people overlook is how remarkably kind and altruistic these boys are
one example of this is their involvement in the polished man campaign. ateez's leader, hongjoong, began participating early on in their career out of love for social justice. now, all of ateez participates, and they're ambassadors for the campaign

another thing to note: most of ateez's songs cover the topic of mental health, which is a reason many fans feel a deep connection to their lyrics
and, i should bring it up because it meant a lot to many fans. here is hongjoong saying that he gets energy and inspiration from ateez's lgbtq+ fans !!
+ more of ateez supporting lgbtq+ fans
3. things from their perspective

ateez is very thoughtful and introspective about their place in life, how they fit in the world, and what people they want to become. reading their own words really helps you understand what kind of people they are
this quote in particular gained a lot of attention from fans.
4. ateez is highly praised by industry professionals

don't trust SHE/HER 16 for your kpop opinions ... ateez is respected by many others in the kpop industry, and there's a reason why
i can't even begin to list the people who have given praise to ateez, but, luckily, there's already an (endless) awesome thread out there! https://twitter.com/A__FCB/status/1141480677268951041?s=19
my personal favorite would be this quote from eric nam
5. ateez's unrestrained growth

i find it really odd that stan twitter rarely gives ateez credit for what they've accomplished, especially considering that it wasn't so easy for them in the beginning. this list of % growth really shows how hot ateez is right now
there have been so many articles written about this topic. it seems like every title associated with ateez mentions "the future of kpop"
and it seems like many industry insiders understand their growth potential, too. back in 2019, american labels were fighting to sign ateez (until they ultimately signed with rca).
i think that's important to know because, although ateez is still very early into their career, it's clear that their ambitions and talents will carry them far. so, become a fan now, so you can watch them grow!
and that is pretty much all i wanted to mention for this thread. ateez makes me so proud, and i really hope this helps at least one person understand ateez better!
