With some shut the ability to make changes to processes and procedures now is very limited. They will find out in Jan if their preparations have paid off.

- Gov published the list of ports operating pre-lodgement
- Port infrastructure fund money was allocated. How much can be built in two weeks?

How about tariffs and RoO?
- we don't have the final tariff file so biz cannot assign their goods the right commodity code to use from 1 Jan
- With no UK-EU legal text biz cannot ensure their goods meet the rules and provide proof to achieve tariff free trade

Finally on NI:
We are awaiting confirmationcompanies can use the UK Trader Scheme. Secondly how is "final use" defined. Is a company selling the good to a NI dealer "final use"? If not then the scheme will not work and we could be paying duties on intra-UK trade.

Should this be the case the tariff rebate mechanism will be even more important but gov have said this will not be in place for 1 January

All in all the questions seem endless, even when progress is made it opens up new possibilities. A UK-EU deal will not solve any of this but it will be essential that gov and biz pull together in January to make it all work. END
