The secret behind Amewu’s Hohoe win. A thread!
For political gain,Nana Addo cut part of Hohoe constituency and Municipality into two. 4 traditional areas ie Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi, and Likpe,(SALL) who were part of Hohoe constituency and Municipality were pushed against their wish, in that dubious referendum, to Oti.
They're still protesting their removal from Hohoe but Akufo Addo is adamant. Now, they refuse to join Jasikan Buem, or Biakoye. So they're stranded in the middle.The beneficiary of the confusion is NPP and Peter Amewu.
In a suit referred from Ho high court to the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court created more confusion. The EC had attempted to add the SALL to Buem. But no constituency could straddle between 2 different regions. The Supreme Court held that to be unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court held that to be unconstitutional under article 47 clause 6. The EC was to enact a new CI but its too late. Any creation of a new constituency will come into effect upon dissolution of parliament on midnight of 7th January.
Meanwhile, the local government ministry had purportedly enacted an LI to create SALL into the so called Guan district. It followed that that Guan district will be converted into a constituency but only after enactment of a new CI, which can only happen in January 2025.
In the Supreme Court ruling, it appears until the creation of the new constituency for SALL aka Guan, they were to vote in their original constituency ie Hohoe on 7th December 2020.
But strangely, in furtherance of their diabolical plan to Annex Hohoe the EC in concert with NPP& Amewu, as usual, waited till 7pm of Sunday Dec 6,the eve of elections, to issue a press release @ 7pm in social media,to d effect that SALL would vote in presidential elections only.
That way, our candidate Prof Margaret Kwaku, who hails from Lolobi in SALL but registered in Hohoe, lost all SALL votes, about 20,000.
Cleaverly also,sources indicate that the farmers day holiday which fell on 4th December, but shifted to the elections day of 7th December, was intended to prevent a possible lawsuit and injunction to stop the conduct of elections until SALL had a representation in parliament.
With this diabolical agenda,Dan Botwe, Akufo Addo, Jean Mensah,have fulfilled their carefully contrived agenda to have a foothold in Hohoe.
