La Masia rejects, who ended up failing at other clubs. A thread:
Munir el Haddadi, A talented prospect from La Masia, who made it to the first team but ended up failing. As far as I can remember, he was injury prone and struggled to perform. Barca ended up letting him leave to sevilla where he has been having a not quite good season.
Bojan Krkic, dubbed as the next messi Bojan had the most insane record as a kid in La Masia. A young Bojan would bag 900+ goals in the academy. He had no competition in the academy and was instantly promoted to the first team. But the problem which prevented him was anxiety -
Bojan would say in an interview later in his career that anxiety attacks stopped him from becoming a world class footballer. He would suffer from anxiety and ended up failing at Barca and moved to several other clubs. He plays in the Canadian league for Montreal Impact. Decline.
Isaac Cuenca, one of the most talented wingers from the La Masia academy was stopped by his injuries. He would go on loan spells to several clubs, but he was stopped by his serious knee injuries to actually be a succesfull player. He now plays for Vegalta Sendai in the J1 league.
Giovanni and Jonathan Dos Santos. The Dos Santos brothers from Mexico were one of the most talented midfielders at the La Masia academy. They were both benched in the first team and did not get much chances, therefore not living up to expectations. Jonathan plays for La galaxy.
And Giovani plays for Club America.
Adama Traore. Adama was a La Masia reject. He is a rwb who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Though he has been good for Wolves, its certainly an enormous downgrade from what he could have been.
