So my sister and I have also struggled with depression this year (So say we all) and I feel like there are a number of things that therapy taught us and also som natural support stuff. Its still a daily journey of up and down but we’re way better than the sunk in bed place before
Supplements: Inositol and a calcium & magnesium combo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 we swear by it and take it daily and look forward to it and feel it when we don’t.
self care for when you just want to lay in bed and disappear or just have no energy or will to move:

• put your bum up against the wall and then lay back down flat on ground with bum on wall and legs straight up on the wall. Lay like that 5-10 mins

I did that from my bed 🤷🏻‍♀️💯
The goal was to do it every morning and to try to wake up before 8am.

These two things help support the body and shift energy around so its a great alternative to exercise (when you’re too depressed or unwell) and also shift mental energy by waking up before 8.
TOUCH- another way to shift energy. When we feel more is possible, apply oil to the whole body with love. Massage or try to at least gently apply the oil and make full contact with your hands and move in the direction of your heart. Helps move lymph and energy. Exercise sub 👍🏼
My sisters therapist encouraged her to find something she could do when she felt like crawling i to bed and into oblivion.... so she started painting a furniture piece in garage. Literally just slapping a bit of chalk paint on it for a bit to just focus on something else.
If i saw her in garage in pajamas painting - I knew she was really struggling and feeling low but she says that helped her more than going to bed.

(We still took naps!!!)
For me, it was going into the backyard or wherever to stretch in the afternoons or when i felt extra blah between 2-4pm. Just for 5 minutes!! Apparently that timeframe is helpful for lifting energy. And focus try to include anything that opened my chest as that is energizing.
The other goal we were given was to try to walk every night. Casual gentle walk. And at first we couldn’t and that in itself was a massive feat but the legs up the wall was so helpful! It shifted enough we soon added night walks.
We feel we are in a muuuuuuuch better place now. We’re not consistent but we get more ideas and ways to help our bodies and shift energy. Face skin care.... hot baths.... listening to affirmation meditations.... waking up earlier and fitting in lemon teas first before coffee....
Baby steps.... drink water.... and put legs up the wall!!!! 💛 Hope this helps.
We still struggle but we found this has helped us a lot.
