I'm OK with vaccine priority schedules, but I've worried that excessive focus on them may end up causing vaccine doses to go waste, particularly if officials and clinicians are afraid of recriminations if someone "unapproved" gets dosed.
It seems like it would be much better to just vaccinate people as quickly as possible. The schedules are not only ethically defensible; they're relatively easy to do the logistics for (hospitals and institutions tend to have easy-to-find populations). But it won't be perfect.
The poor administration from our federal public health officials isn't inspiring confidence in getting this vaccine out efficiently. Doses waiting for *anything* is bad at this point. My latent libertarian instincts have frequently gotten provoked this year.
