Debunking this image because it’s annoying to see it used to debunk Joji’s talent and skill
-2 Singles were released before AH even came out, and I’m guessing Joji didn’t wait until AH came out to do his branding

-The two images at the top aren’t comparable, one is Joji’s album cover and one is a random picture of The Weeknd in his branding where he happens to be red
-Joji didn’t copy the font, he used that same font for his first EP “Chloe Burbank EP”

-The bandaid on the nose wasn’t created by The Weeknd, maybe there was inspiration, but Joji used it for one music video (Tick Tock) for a few shots, not the whole albums theme or branding
Genre-wise
AH - Pop, RnB, “Dream Pop”

Nectar- Alternative RnB, pop Neo-Soul

Source - Wikipedia (so take this with a grain of salt)

AH is much more Pop based than Nectar, the only stylistic similarity is RnB, and it’s two different forms here
Production wise I can see a comparison being made, but again I don’t think Joji was at The Weeknd’s recording sessions, considering Joji started his rollout much before The Weeknd did, maybe he was influenced by The Weeknd, who knows, but you can’t say he’s a rip off or copy
I see Nectar as much more calm, and sometimes sad, in sound and lyrics

I see AH as a bit more upbeat in terms of production, especially in songs like Blinding Lights, and Hesrtless and Hardest to Love, although the lyrics sometimes don’t match the production
In conclusion:
-Yes, they do both do RnB
-Yes, there are high notes in both their albums
-Joji did not copy The Weeknd in any aspect, maybe slight influence for the bandaid on those nose and music-wise, but in no way does Joji copy The Weeknd
Joji is his own unique artist, and should be treated as such, Nectar and After Hours are both amazing albums and we should stop dismissing Joji’s talent as an artist
Only Sanctuary was released before Blinding Lights and Heartless, my bad, got confused with the album release
