This whole AOC/M4A conversation is, per usual, missing the forest for the trees -- if reps have no power and thus have no need to challenge or put up votes, then the gig is up -- the revolution through electoralism is a doomed strategy 1/n
If there is nothing the squad can do to make people's lives better, or help build an actual base of left power, than it deserves no more attention and power must be built elsewhere 2/n
What we know from history, is that building grassroots movements that take on the ruling class must be waged at the point of labor, if the squad has no interest in helping bring back unions or empower the refusal of labor as a weapon, then they have no purpose 3/n
The best we can do, for the people who's main talent and skill is electoralism, is electing radical municipal players like DAs, mayors, city council people, etc.. who, from day 1, have access to levers of powers to make peoples lives better 4/n
DAs like @DA_LarryKrasner or @chesaboudin have already done radical acts of firing corrupt prosecutors, and are fighting to keep people out of jail, this is the only way we will be able to wage the war against capital and the ruling class, by getting the boot off our necks 5/n
The elephant in the room regarding the squad and this stupid convo is that it takes a tremendous amount of money and time to keep the squad in power, if they prove useless, these resources *must* be put toward food, bail funds, toward people and groups who actually wield power
