In reference to @PortlandPolice trying to blame their repeated failures to even bothering showing up to distress calls on BLM protests: “They clearly make time to harass people for being homeless,” Erica said. “Their priorities don’t seem to make sense..." 1/ https://twitter.com/portlandmercury/status/1339709315423203328
If you want to gain public respect, you have to show your value... and they really aren’t showing their value.” Law enforcement in Portland has no idea how seriously they have lost this city. No one is buying the lies anymore. My 72-year-old landlady went from thinking 2/
most cops are good in May to fuming with anger and saying "They're all worthless" when discussing the many injuries PPB perpetrated on myself and others. The doctor @Portlandpolice sent me to 3 times this summer—a serious, calm person to be sure—was radicalized into showing 3/
up to protest after she saw my ruined ribs looked like a grapefruit was inside of them. She was shaking with anger when she told me she and other Drs had been talking about showing up to protest bc of the injuries they'd been treating caused by PPB. Antifa isn't radicalizing 4/
people out here as much as seeing how the police truly behave is doing so. (As are the obvious lies police tell to cover this behavior.) I'd say 90% of the newbies to protesting this year told me they were radicalized to involvement by witnessing the PPB's horrendous behavior. 5/
If police want respect in Portland and elsewhere they'd be wise to leave their little bubbles & understand that the majority of people in this country believe that respect is earned—not stolen simply because you put on an outfit. The internet exists. People know cops are lying.
