There are many issues related to abortion access in #NewBrunswick that need to change. But it keeps me up at night thinking people may not know how to access the publicly funded services that are currently available.
It would be helpful if the coverage of this issue was done accurately and with information that is specific enough to help people who may be looking and needing this care right now today.
Adding specific info in case it’s helpful to someone reading: Medical abortion is accessible in Fredericton (and elsewhere in NB) outside of hospitals. It is a service provided by a number of primary health care providers (doctors and nurse practitioners).
Medical abortion is a safe and effective option until about 9-10 weeks of pregnancy
Medical abortions are publicly funded through Medicare, which means you do not pay out of pocket.
