a thread on what a 10 would do for arsenal:

first aspect is very clear, creating chances. the job of a 10 is providing the strikers with chances every game, separating their vision from what the defenders can spot. exactly what arsenal need

next is helping out wingers. running into space creates so much opportunities for either a winger to run direct towards goal, or maybe playing a 1 2 for a chance to shoot at goal. this way there is a chance for players like pepe to explode

the build up play. i have a feeling arteta will be here for a long time, so in that case a 10 will help so much building from the back. arteta has loved playing from the back, slowly progressing up the pitch, a 10 can help so much by either finding a killer pass... 1/2

or running with the ball. either way a 10 will be absolutely key to artetas style of play

composure when attacking. when attacking there has to always be a few players to string a few passes to find a gap through. a player we need is basically a prime mesut ozil, someone to give the ball to in hope of finding a way through

goal threat. we haven’t had a goal scoring midfielder for a long time, which is what we need. having a chance to either finish a goal off 8/10 times, or smashing it from 30 yards out, either way we need a midfielder to help get into the box to finish off an attack
