#Threadapalooza A big thread of the best whiskies I've ever tried. (Not ranked)
Been very lucky to have tried these and since everyone loves a good thread/listicle I'm going to make one too.

1. Samaroli Bowmore Bouquet 1966/1984
The legend of Samaroli deserves its own thread but this bottle is an important one - for cask choices, bottling decision, for how it defined Bowmore. Massive tropical fruits, slight earthiness, sublime finish. The best Bowmore imo.

2. [Ardbeg 1965 Cadenheads 23 yo/mizuhashi]
Perfection is about simplicity. This is clean and so balanced that Thanos would be proud of it. It is intense, huge on peat, and yet balanced with citrus, salt and a never ending finish. The best Ardbeg, possibly the best whisky ever.

3. Port Ellen G&M 1969 Celtic Label
Since PE is making a return in 2021 with a promise of the days of yore I must feature this madness of a bottle. The elements of the seaside accompanied by young peat and fruit. Huge power and a medicinal mouthfeel. Complex, but incredible.

4. Moon Import (MI) Ardbeg 'Birds' 1966 Cask 348
One for the ages. 'The Birds' series also has some of my favourite labels (from an 18th century german encyclopedia). The matchstick red phosphorus burn, the orange jam and sherry. A complete stunner.

5. Samaroli Ardbeg 1974
There are peat monsters and then there's this. Huge power!! Perhaps needed a bit more taming but otherwise splendid, nothing on the market now has anything on how intense this was on the nose all the way down to the long finish. Peat, vanilla, apple. Yum.

6. Bowmore Bicentenary 1964 (Soffiantino import)
60s was peak Bowmore (and it'll occupy many slots in the 100). The bicens, through their multiple versions, harmonized big tropical fruit flavours, aromatic sherry (bitter/spiced?) and earthy medicinal and coastal elements.

7. Laphroaig 1974 31 yo for LMDW
One of my favourite Laph iterations. Can't go wrong with sherry and peat :) dried fruits, citrus, menthol, dark chocolate, jam... so much going on in this dram that makes it impossible to put down.

8. Samaroli Laphroaig 1967/1982 15yo
This is why we drink whisky and why Samaroli was a genius. Profile includes a lot of 'oh my god', fruits, oysters, pepper, citrus... coupled with the smoke, chocolate and sherry? One of the best, if not the best whisky I've had.
