Reasons why most are "divesting."
1) They couldn't get the men that they wanted. But b/c they are black, proximity leads them to blame this on black men.
But in reality, most men (of all races) don't want them. Hence, why I sometimes refer to them as "female incels" (femcels) https://twitter.com/cousin_drake/status/1339661207062589441

2) Colorism is a real issue in the black community, but #divesters (and Twitter in general) never bring up any tangible points.
They would much rather focus on the skintone of Chris Brown's new girlfriend.
This is the only time colorism is brought up, in relation to dating.

But, this is the same reason why you almost NEVER see colorism being brought up in situations when men are it's victims.
Colorism is the discrimination of darker skinned people, WITHIN the same racial group.
I'll make a more detailed thread on actual colorism in the near future

Since most divestors couldn't get the black men that they wanted.
They latch onto this idea that black men are colorist, and black men don't date darkskin black women.
Which is obviously ridiculous, because most people date within their own race... including black men.

3) Many pedestalize non-black men (specially white and occasionally Asian men).
They haven't had many experiences with non-black men (again, due to proximitry), so they have this false reality that they better than black men in every way.
A coping mechanism, to avoid reality.

"Black men are all colorist, and trash anyway, its a good thing i don't want them," mindset.
They adopt this way of thinking, without realizing that black men aren't their problem.
They're in denial. Again, another coping mechanism to keep their false reality.

I call this the white savior mindset.
Instead of accepting that maybe I'm unattractive, maybe I need to improve my personality, maybe I need to get in shape, maybe I need to have a more positive outlook...no....they really believe that their problems are all b/c of black men.

4) There are 3 main groups of divestors.
- Group 1 consists of middle aged (35 year olds, and older) black women who absolutely despise black men.
- Group 2 are teenage girls, and young women (13-22 year olds). Group 1 teaches them to hate black men.

- Group 3 are "alternative" black girls/women. They were socially "outcasted" from the black community.
They were often bullied, made the butt of jokes, and had bad experiences with other black people. They just didn't fit in.
These types usually have kpop/anime anvis.

I actually feel bad for group 3, because most really don't have hate in their hearts. Constant bullying and other bad experiences does toll down on one's self esteem...they inturn seek refugee in online groups.
Then unfortunately get introduced to the divest crowd, by Group 1.

As we all know vulnerable people can be influenced greatly by propaganda.
So these girls/women constantly hear anti-black male rhetoric from group 1.
There are literally hundreds of YouTube channels, private reddit communities, Twitter pages, lipstick ally, etc.

So they hear the same anti-black male rhetoric form all these sources. And it shapes their view, this becomes their reality.
These ones can be saved. They're really just looking to fit in, and not be judged.
Again, they usually have a Doja cat, Nicki Minaj, Kpop or anime anvi.

Prime example of how Group 1, influences other the other groups:
5) There really isn't much hope for Group 1. We can try, but many have made up their minds.
However the other 2 groups need therapy, and higher self-esteem. They are too influenced by the media they consume.

6) Believe it or not, there is a non-hateful part of "divesting."
Where they believe in:
- improving the image of the black women
- putting themselves first
- focusing on improving themselves
- working on "femininity" etc.
However, the movement itself is too tainted.

This group of divestors, seem to be the minority.
The negativity seems to heavily outweigh the positivity.
"Divesting" has always been a thing, but over the last few years it has become popularized, and has ultimately become its own "movement."
