I published almost none of my own work this year BUT I had the pleasure of editing some incredible essays for @CatapultStory. Here are a few of my favorites!

Way back in the Before time (February) @trish_fancher wrote about archival work and recovering lost selves: http://bit.ly/3oZWGou
When I'm asked on panels and such what kinds of stories I DON'T want to see, I always say essays about pets... But this one by @kmiversen was so good it became the exception: http://bit.ly/38fbIQl
As soon as this piece by @hannahmsays was published, I added it to my essay class curriculum as an example of how to look at the intersections between different aspects of your self/life to find fresh, new, complicated stories: http://bit.ly/2J3p4a2
This piece by @seekingsol about mothering through catastrophe was finalized in early March... if we only knew! http://bit.ly/3mAM65W
I said I didn't want to edit any pandemic essays, but then I cried while reading @tumblehawk's draft of this piece, which meant I was legally obligated (and thrilled) to accept it: http://bit.ly/2x6sqTI
. @lindseythughes workshopped this piece in my @barrelhouse class and I immediately asked her to send me the revised draft. I love it so much. It was also her first published piece, which is SUCH a thrill as an editor: http://bit.ly/3d4X7Za
This piece by @arya_roshanian is about queerness and ballet as a way to reclaim the self, so obviously I was all in: http://bit.ly/2ZM2Hv2
I'd seen @literElly's tweets about @carlyraejepsen and known there was an essay in there waiting to happen, so when they tweeted about this idea I was in their dm's immediately: http://bit.ly/3gXQp9V
And finally, this piece by @abigail_hfield is everything I want in an essay—a personal transformation and rejection of conventional wisdom, driven by an obsession with a piece of art: http://bit.ly/3p34uG1
There were more but these are a few that stuck out. Getting to bring work I love out into the world is an incredible experience, and I take at least as much pride in editing as in my own writing. I'm closed to subs right now, but looking forward to finding more gems in 2021.
OH WAIT! One more. LOVED this piece by Isabelle Fang on trying to capture her mother's voice on the page: http://bit.ly/2K5Y5LC
