Here’s a thread about why this is a goat right here. @Happyki51915578 this for you
To keep things short and concise let’s look at Deku’s main character arc

Deku, a kid with an ambition to save and help anyone in any way received a self destructive power. Now he shoulders the responsibility of that power as he proves to others and himself he is worthy.
The development of this arc started the second we met Deku.

His first obstacle, living powerlessly in a world of heroes, while being torn down and constantly told that he will never fulfill his dreams by everyone. But his resilience and heart earned him OFA, now he has a chance
2nd obstacle. As he sees people Shoto that are in situations that can send them down a bad path, Deku has shown himself to want to help people in those situations to a point where he even destroys himself.

This SHOULD gives the readers respect for Deku, but some ppl ignore it
3rd Obstacle: As Deku comes to understand Bakugo and see characters like Mirio, and takes in the words from Nighteye, Deku begins to doubt that he deserves his power. Even though All Might reassures him, Deku has been on a journey since the Overhaul Arc to prove to himself worthy
This arc has been showcased with him trying to save Eri from a situation where he didn’t help at first. Says things like “if I can’t ____ then I can’t call myself a hero.” And stated the Gentle fight, he wants to pay back the blessings he received to the people who blessed him.
Obstacle 4: Shigaraki, the narrative foil. Deku meets a character that not only shoulders the power that his power was made to defeat, but only exists because there wasn’t anyone that did for him what Deku himself wants to do.
No one saved Shiggy, so Deku, wanting to prove he can be a hero, showing his undying will to save and win, win and save, and using his ability to understand people, wants to save Shigaraki from himself.

Deku is the pinnacle of Selflessness, this has always been the case
Shigaraki’s entire character arc is that the hero system creates monsters and then destroys those monsters, it’s a terrible cycle. And it all comes from the fact that heroes aren’t what they claim to be.

But Deku’s wants to prove to others that he can be the hero that can saves
Let me reiterate, Deku, being a selfless character, see’s past what Shigaraki does and looks at WHY Shigaraki does what he does. That alone isn’t something ordinary heroes do. Deku’s arc is still being built up and will conclude with Shigaraki’s, hence why it’s been paralleled
So the idea that, “oh Shigaraki does bad shit so why is he trying to help him” is stupid. Because Deku’s entire character arc is about selflessness. To abandon that and make him a vengeful character is NOT good writing.
Deku is the ONLY character that is able to save Shigaraki. He knows why he destroys, because he doesn’t think that good heroes exist. But Deku wants to PROVE that he can be a good hero, and this is just another obstacle in an arc that’s been developing since the Overhaul Arc
Making Deku a character like Eren without the seeds being planted is literally retarded.
And I wanna end off by linking this thread as well. He prolly went over the stuff I mentioned better than I did and some more stuff too. https://twitter.com/sync_xma/status/1339557296016338944
