He is the prototype of a perfect striker for the future generations to learn from.
Story of Lewandowski's hardships to reach the top of football pyramid [THREAD]
Lewandowski was born in a family of sports stars.
His father Krzysztof Lewandowski - a former judoist – was a successful player at the Hutnik
His mother Iwona Lewandowska was a volleyball player in the first league Academic Sports Association ‘Warsaw’
Being in a sports family meant Robert Lewandowski was destined to be an athlete
Young Robert has tried his hand in multiple sports. But it is football where he found his feet
His father quickly understood Robert's prowess as a footballer and took him to training sessions
By 9, he joined Varsovia Warsaw and continued his progress. He endured tough conditions and grew his abilities
After 7 years, he moved to fifth tier club Delta Warsaw who used to supply talents to Legia Warsaw.
But it is during this time, Lewandowski suffered the biggest loss in his life.
His father who was his hero expired before seeing his son play professional football.
This meant Robert needed to man up very early in his life and learn things the hard way
To reduce the financial burden on his mother, he moved in with his sister in Warsaw.
Lewandowski worked hard with Delta club and managed to live with whatever little money he made.
He caught the eyes of Legia Warsaw scouts and earned a 1 year contract with reserves
Lewy tried his best to prove his potential as a young player and was eager to get into senior squad.
His efforts were noticed by coach and a call up to train with main team came
Unfortunately for Lewy, he suffered a fall, endured a very bad injury even before his career started
Legia Warsaw did not extend his contract and Lewy was left without any club.
His dreams and aspirations came to a standstill at just 17.
He tried to join lower league teams but no one offered him a chance
In 2006, Lewandowski recovered from his injury. Znicz Pruszków took a chance with Lewy despite his injury risks.
This began the journey of Lewandowski that we know today
He then went onto move to Lech Poznan and then made a big switch to Dortmund
He proved to be one of the best young strikers at Dortmund and lost in the UCL final
He soon joined Bayern and etched history with his goal scoring.
He won his dream UCL title and is looking at the peak of his powers right now.
Lewandowski was seen completely emotional after winning the UCL title and dedicated the award to his hero, beloved father.

The legend won his first FIFA best player award. His best is yet to come and it will be cruel to hate such a hard working and humble guy
