#Chandamama No introduction is needed to the phenomenon of our times. Those who read it during their childhood know what Chandamama meant. It was a world by itself for us. The dreamland magazine for children was such a passion for us during childhood.
Our happiness knew no bounds when a fresh new copy arrived. Chandamama was no mere story magazine. It was a legendary institution which won generations of youngsters. It has a place of pride in the history of publishing in India.
The multilingual magazine was started in Telugu in 1947 by B.Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani, noted Telugu Film makers. It was edited by Kodavatiganti Kutumba Rao. The final issue came in 2013. The choice of stories, writing style and illustrations of Chandamama were matchless.
The illustrations were unique in their impact on us and remain unforgotten. The last of the magazine's living artists was Sh. Karatholuvu Chandrasekaran Sivasankaran. He illustrated Chandamama. Born in 1924 in a village near Erode, Tamil Nadu, he was also known as Artist Sankar.
