Step 2 is to buy some ETH, install a wallet like @MyCrypto, send and receive a bit, view the transaction on Etherscan, put a *small* amount of ETH into Metamask, use it to play around with apps listed on http://defipulse.com , and register a domain on http://ens.domains .
Step 3 then varies based on your interest.
Developers should create apps, using BTC, ETH and other L1 chains, as well as crypto-adjacent tech like IPFS and dweb tools.
Investors can look at @MessariCrypto and coinmarketcap to figure out if they can beat BTC & ETH. Most won't!
