Test processing back up.

Looking at cases by specimen (swabbing) date Monday was high: 30,462 cases. Mondays tend to be high as that is when the home test kits tend to be collected. But it is nearly half as many again as last week.
Weekends tend to be low due to low testing.
But- again- more than half as much again this last weekend as the one before.
Predictable and predicted.
The trend is clearly back up again.
Just before we went into National restrictions we had 31k cases.
Similar to Monday.

And cases are going back up.
A new graph, positivity levels in ENGLAND - so not 4 nations.
BUT this appears to include routine non symptomatic screening in the denominator-diluting positivity v symptom testing.
Cannot compare with March/ April when nearly all (limited) testing was of hospitalised patients

Still. Even with routine repeat screening it is hovering just under 10% (WTO suggests this means not enough testing).
A couple of days ago Wales was overall at 20% but Merthyr at 30%.
And they are a couple of weeks ahead of us.

This is quite colourful showing positives by date of swab. Look at the coloured tips on the right hand side to give you a clue about reporting lag. Whilst the majority seem to be processed within 4 days some can take as many as 10 days. That is awful. https://twitter.com/jneill/status/1339675201274064896
