Idk who needs to hear this but stop appropriating college/school hustle culture and glorifying it.
If you're going to measure someone's worth by how many hours they spend on a chapter or how many marks they get in that math exam, you're being a part of the bigger problem.
Growing up I've noticed how a few teachers also ration out their respect to students based on how much they score. I'm sorry ma'am but the 98% scorer you're simping over could be an a-hole irl. You're probably only inflating their already heightened ego
Also if you've ever been put down or shamed for the marks you got despite giving it your best, remember it's not you, it's them. Give yourself a break. i wonder to what extent academic dishonesty (cheating) would reduce if students weren't put under the pressure.
If everyone was meant to get that 95 in their boards then that would be the norm. But it isn't. Ninety fives still remain exceptions so it's better that we set realistic goals for every child based on their potential with respect to subjective testing.
I say subjective testing in particular because grades aren't all encompassing. That 95 isn't insurance against failure in the future. It's mere validation for a form of testing with a very narrow scope.
I'm sure my job description in the future won't revolve around reproducing a paragraph on photosynthesis word to word.
