I know @jimmy_dore personally. I’ve talked to him many times & I consider him a friend. I like to think I’m a good judge of character & I know a good egg when I meet one. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I know why he does it. He’s pissed & can see what’s going on. I /1
Used to be the guy who gave comedians the light at a fun little show on Tuesdays at a place called M Bar in Hollywood. The show eventually became Comedy-Death Ray then Comedy Bang Bang, but that’s another story. I was effectively a nobody. But it was fun to meet the comedians /2
even if I was the guy who had to cut their act short or let it run way long (Todd Glass ahem). Some comedians didn’t care. Some were grateful. Some seemed to take it personal & some knew I was just doing my job. @jimmy_dore was one of those comedians. Nicest guy offstage. He /3
Would listen & engage in a conversation the way human beings do. A lack of basic human interaction & decency aren’t among what flaws he may have. He also never cared who else was in the room. He wasn’t scanning over my shoulder to see if some other comic or celeb came in. /4
He was one of a few comics I could make laugh, which means they actively listened. Genuine at heart people. And wouldn’t you know it, these are the only comics I still follow & communicate with really at all today. Jimmy, @Brotherwags @daveanthony, @grahamelwood & @mentalpod.

I find it Interesting that almost all of them still hang out together and perform together & their cause is “the common man”. Like me. They don’t treat people like stairs. They treat people like people & they get pissed when someone else doesn’t. They are the heroes of comedy. /6
You wanna go after @jimmy_dore? You better have your arguments together, because he wields the sword of truth, & that fucker’s sharp. He may not wield it gracefully, but he doesn’t need to. Grace is for politicians who need to slide their blade of bullshit into you sideways. /7
Yeah, you could call Jimmy a diamond in the rough. But the parts that are already diamond are the only parts that matter: integrity, honesty, humanity & humor. You can attack his ideas all day long, but attacking him is a fight you will lose every time. #FloorVoteNow
