This excellent thread reminds me of when I was a 2nd LT at The Basic School in 2007 and then-

I should add that Clinton was a sitting Senator at the time and on the Armed Services Committee and Democratic candidate for President of the United States which would have made her Amos' Commander in Chief had she won.
To be clear, politicking in uniform is against the Uniform Code of Military Justice *for the excellent reasons @jimgolby highlighted in his thread* but Amos, as a General, apparently felt he was so far above the law that he could do this is at a mandatory training event.
