a thread on satosugu's motivations

suguru is literally the only person that suggests that satoru became the strongest, not just through his innate techniques, but because of his own tenacity and determination
not even satoru thinks he is anything besides "the strongest"

but suguru watched satoru change from his equal to becoming the strongest all on his own

gojo doesn't understand what geto is saying in shinjuku but he does later as he starts to teach his students

geto is saying+
it's possible for others to be as strong as him because his strength isn't purely inherent

his words shape satoru's entire goal to raise his students to be as strong as him cuz he can't do everything by himself

he's raising equals to be on par with him like suguru once was
suguru informing satoru's goals is interesting because at least subconsciously, satoru is a part of why he has his goals too

in the beginning suguru says the strong must protect the weak but after he sees the pain the strong must face to do that, he thinks the weak are worthless
since satoru is the strongest, he's the one making the most sacrifices to keep people weaker than him, which is basically everyone, safe

suguru's thinking, despite being denounced by satoru, favours him a lot
suguru sees satoru become someone he doesn't recognise, then sees him constantly destroy and repair his brain to keep up his technique, and all the other ordeals shamans have to deal with to protect ungrateful non-shamans before deciding on his feelings of hate
it's strange how, even though they disagree with each other, they are still a part of each other's motivation, whether they realise it on a conscious level or not

thank you for reading!! feel free to share your thoughts on this too ~
