Making twitter 18+ would require that users varrify their identities through legal means. That means losing anonymity, and I think every adult bullying kids who claims they want this site to be 18+ do not realize the monkeys paw that would require
Making your favorite social media site 18+ will not free you from consequences, if anything on a website like that will have heavier consequences when you act out of line. Because your actions on that site will be attached to your legal name
The thing is, you can make twitter 18+ for yourself. By blocking all the underage users you encounter. Or just curate your social circles to only include adults. But those campaigning for 18+ bans would rather harass the kids they encounter
Saying "Make this site 18+" tells me you are not willing to put the effort into curating your online circles, and would rather blame children for existing then examine your own words and actions.
