BTW I know we're all supposed to be breaking out of our echo chambers but I was in a TV production office a while ago and on their walls they had a vision board of all the people they want on their shows with their follower count beside them. Guess what? They didn't make any
note of what was behind those follows. It could have been anything from curiosity to devotion to hate to the need to break out of one's echo-chamber. It was all in the one number. So I realised that even though there were some people I was only following for "breaking out of
liberal bubble" reasons, that didn't matter. I was still contributing to those people being given a platform and opportunities. So ever since, I've been trying to unfollow such people. I got rid of the obvious ones but very now and again one slips though and then I get rid. Maybe
when shows/media stop basing their casting decisions on crude numbers like this, I will go back to that strategy but until then I can only follow people I want to support. I say this in the knowledge some people reading may be following me to break out of their bubble and sorry
but you are prob part of the reason I got to play Electric Picnic four years ago.
