It wont have been a small decision for Unicef to decide to turn their National Committee Office into a programmatic office. The last time this was done (I believe) was in Europe to respond to the refugee crisis.
Unicef was the most apolitical organisation I ever worked in. The belief that you work hand in hand with Government to ensure children's rights are protected was central to everything we did. This couldn't be further from a 'political game'
It speaks volumes that they feel they have to make this move to help children here. We should all feel shame that they have too. It is ill-judged and ill-informed for Rees Mogg to say Unicef should be ashamed.
