I tuned into @PeteButtigieg’s newest podcast episode because he discusses his nomination to be Sec of Transportation with his guest @HillaryClinton. Some observations: 1/
I was thrown for a loop when the first thing I heard after hitting the play button was an ad for a luxury SUV (Genesis).

2/

But after the shock of that wore off I was heartened to hear a thoughtful discussion that included active transportation, livable cities, talent retention, connectivity, and the jobs that come with building it. 3/
Hillary discussed her time in the Senate and talked about bicycle and trail advocacy and the fact that advocates would just keep coming back. For a second I thought she was going to refer to @BikeLeague summit’s Hill visits! @CaronWhitaker 4/
Also glad to hear them discuss the potential for transportation policy to be in lock step with climate change efforts. This often gets left out of the national discussion. 5/
SUV adverts aside, I feel optimistic about the nomination. @PeteButtigieg says he is anxious to immerse himself in the issues and draw in his experience as a mayor that dealt with transportations issues on the local level. 6/
We hope that equity will be front and center in the folks he surrounds himself with and in the policy positions/decisions championed. Here’s a link to the episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-deciding-decade-with-pete-buttigieg/id1525423535 /end
