I am going to express myself on some views I have regarding some feedback I am getting. First, we love readers reviewing our books. We accept the opinion of the reviewer regardless of a good or bad review. It is their opinion, and it is not our place to judge opinions,
especially when we asked for it. Second, it is possible to not agree with a review, but still respect the feelings expressed in the review. What prompted this tweet was a comment accusing us of bowing down to peer pressure for expressing empathy for how one of our books made
someone feel. Empathy is not bowing down, and it certainly is not a weakness. We will continue to publish material that some readers may find offensive, it is the nature of what we do. We will also pay attention to what our reviews say, and when we have published something
that has a history of upsetting a reviewer, we will warn them if possible. This will give them the opportunity to decide for themselves if it is something they want to read. We fully subscribe to the idea that you are free to write(publish) what you want, and read what you want.
We won't change the material we choose to publish, and we will also continue to empathize with how that material make people feel. We can do both, and will. My door is open to you, if you have something to say. [email protected]
