I don't tweet much about my team in @WaterfordNS. And when I say team I have to say it is quite a large collection of people under one giant News & Star umbrella, including journalists, staff photographer, contributors, columnists and freelance photographers.
12 years after taking up this job I've come to learn and trust that you have to take a chance on magic, & that inevitably it will happen when you take that leap of faith. It starts with a passionate person pitching their wares over a snatched coffee or nerve wracking interview.
My gut lights up and another addition is added to our community. Over the years these people may come and go, lend us their talent for a while, or stay the longer course. Either way, they weave vibrant colour into the tapestry of what we do.
They in turn bring their people with them, their life experiences, their stories, and the community grows. Their words and images are varied and unique and wise and brilliant. So privately, at my home desk, I often smile as I read a column or story, or gaze at a fantastic pic.
I smile that this person reached out to us, or we reached out to them- and the magic of their work is published. Here's to a great Christmas for all in the @WaterfordNS community, of whom I'm so proud. #Waterford #MerryChristmas
